Julien Marinetti

Julien Marinetti is a French painter and sculptor best known for fusing the two disciplines in bold, expressive works that blur the line between object and image. Based in Paris and trained at the Atelier de la Grande Chaumière, he spent years refining his skills in life drawing and classical oil painting before developing the distinctive style that now defines his work.

Marinetti treats sculpture as a three-dimensional canvas. His most recognisable figures are brought to life with layers of vivid acrylic paint, lacquer, and transparent resin. Each piece becomes a dynamic surface for experimentation, where colour, composition, and form interact in a way that feels spontaneous yet intentional.

Julien Marinetti Biography

Julien's practice is shaped by instinct rather than pre-planning. Whether working with animals, human figures, or abstract shapes, he uses each sculpture as a vehicle for emotional and visual exploration. Influenced by a wide range of sources—from classical antiquity to street art—Marinetti’s work resists categorisation. It reflects his belief that art should be experienced viscerally, not explained.

With international exhibitions in cities including New York, Singapore, London, and Shanghai, Marinetti’s work is collected around the world by individuals, institutions, and cultural foundations. Yet despite this global recognition, he remains deeply committed to the studio process—and to using his art for good. He has long supported charities working with children affected by illness and disability, often donating work quietly and without publicity.

For Marinetti, painting and sculpture are inseparable. His aim is not simply to decorate or stylise, but to tap into something deeper and more human—something that connects the tactile and the intangible. The result is work that feels vibrant, vital, and uniquely his.
