Kusama is best known for her pumpkins, polka dots, and infinity rooms, intended to immerse the viewer into her thoughts and obsessive repetitions, reminiscent of the hallucinations of flowers, dots, and nets which she experienced as a child.

Works by Kusama are held in museum collections across the globe, including Centre Pompidou, Paris; the Museum of Modern Art, New York; National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo; and Tate, United Kingdom, to name a few.
